Starting July 1, 2023, adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders will no longer be excluded from receiving ABA Therapy services under Utah Medicaid. The age caps that are currently in the ASD Related Services Provider Manual will be removed to comply with S.B. 204 Autism Coverage Amendments passed in the 2023 Utah Legislative Session.
This is a huge win for adults with Autism. Utah Medicaid will no longer discriminate against them and they will have access to medically necessary services. Adults with Autism can contact a ABA Therapy provider to be assessed to determine if ABA Therapy services can be covered.
